Shift shaft support

Picked this up recently: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Racing-Gear...6Snc7OWDSVlNAQ

Got around to installing it today. While I was at it, I cleaned out and re-greased the needle bearing on the (DMr) shift lever; now just have to wait for spring to come around in earnest here in Montreal and I can see how everything works.

So it fit the SuperHawk? They don't show that they offer one for the SH. What's your opinion on if it'll do anything for you? Anyone else have experience or an opinion?

yup, fits; can`t give feedback until I get the bike out and take it for a ride... the way I see it, it can only help the shifting (can`t see it hurting anyhow) and considering the price (and my OCMD), it was an easy choice to make...

Is there only one version of the thing or what model did you select when purchasing?

I bought the one in the link I provided in the original post (your biggest decision will be which colour to get). Fill it full of grease and bolt it in.

I have worked on bikes whose shift shaft wobbled like a drunken sailor do to design (different from the case/support bearing/support bushing or shaft being worn) and an add on support might make a difference.
Just went and looked at my personal VTR and another I have in the shop for work there is very little movement 90deg to the shaft center line..some but not much.

Id love to see someone put an indicator on the shaft measure at a known point, say 10mm inboard from the splines and measure run out, then again after the "support" is installed.

At a cost of $23 US, I had to try it Worse case scenario, the shaft is better protected in case of a fall...
