List of Bolt-On Front Brake Mods
Let you know in about a week, assuming the weather is good. It was 75 here in TN Sunday and Monday and now it is 28 degrees.
Some of the WERA guys i know suggested the Yamaha R6 2005 or later Radial MC, but i kept chasing them at over $100 on ebay.
I picked up a similar GSXR 1000 one for half that price in mint condition.
The old VTR MC is just not powerful enough for these big Six Pot calipers.
I am actually hoping that i can re-route the excess SS line length to allow me to still use the ones i have. If not i will be ebay shopping for some Radial configured SS lines.

F4 calipers are identical to F4i calipers. If they have a cutout, they have been modified because they don't come that way from the factory. The sizes of the caliper pistons for the various Honda models are listed somewhere in this thread.
Thanks guy for all the awesome advice XLSR-VRT1 I am in your shoes to much goodness to choose! I will be posting up some pics of my upcoming mod soon enough before my track day here in about two weeks. Hopefully all will go well!!
Hey XLSR My bro lives in ballard and rides a VFR you got alot of guys you ride with up there?

As for your bro, yes Im the pres of my club XLSR, Xtreme Lean Sport Riders. We are about 50 people and a core of 25. We are street riders, track junkies and have a race team. We are not freeway monkey's but like to have a little fun in the right places. Mostly we promote safe riding and doing track days if you want to tear it up. Anyway, if he'd like more info our web pages are on my personal info page or pm me. Cheers!
Inderocker and Skokievtr, thanks for those pics! That helps. How did you do the machine work? Drill press?
Thumper you should post a pic of that setup, Im curious how that looks, I wonder if my TLR calipers will bolt to my VTR... Also there is a guy here who may be interested in your ss lines, he already asked me about mine. I'll pm ya.

I'm the guy who compiled the list. I think they're the same, but if you have different info let us know.

Well the part numbers for the 1999 & 2000 CBR600F4 front brake caliper pistons are the same
http://www.powersedge.com/pages/part...d/7/Honda.aspx
but are different than the 2001~2006 CBR600F4i front brake caliper pistons
that are the same
http://www.powersedge.com/pages/part...d/7/Honda.aspx
The pistons also have different part numbers
so you tell me?
BTW the pads are the same # 06455-MBW except the F4 last # is -066 and F4i -E11. Interstingly, the RC5100 & 01 pads have diff #s but the 02 RC51 pads are the same as the F4i but the 01 RC pistons and 02 pistons are diff but not the same as either the F4 or F4i...

My F4i calipers did not have the "cutouts" and had to be milled but did have the 34/32 mm pistons. Your calipers (whatever they are from) have been milled. What size are your pistons?
I have become very leary of where a seller says an item actually comes from (i.e., year and model), and what condition they/it really are/is in.

WOW! just got back from a late night jaunt around the 'hood' and wow!
I installed some GSXR 6pots, some Galfer Lines and flushed all the fluids out the old beotch and I tell ya it feels great!
Bleeding was a tough chore. I am sure Ill bleed em some tomorrow again just for safe measure. It seems evertime I tap, hit, bump or bounce the bike more are comes out of those silly little nipples!
Thanks for all the great advice!

Well i got the Ebay Master Cylinder Yesterday. 2006 GSXR 1000 Radial unit. I thought i would need to get new SS lines as mine current ones would not reach the new banjo bolt postion. Well i was wrong, with a little mod hear and there i was able to get the new MC installed using my existing lines.
Still got to take her out for a ride, but i can tell a huge improvement over the Stock MC. So now my setup is Stock Rotors, 2002 GSXR 1000 6 pot calipers, and 2006 GSXR 1000 Radial Master Cylinder.
Stock Master Cylinder:

Tip 1: When simply bleeding to flush a system, suck out the old fluid in the resevoir before adding fresh with the MityVac or small turkey baster (do not get the fluid in the rubber bulb). Tip 2: For bleed nipple thread sealing, the yellow teflon tape for gas lines is better than the white but regardless chase the tape into the threads after winding counterclockwise 2 laps max. Do not use hardening type thread sealants. Speedbleeders come with a non-hardening thread sealant that is good for 2 or, at most, 3 careful bleeds and then must be replaced. They sell it in a bottle but their last supplier screwed up with a bad batch and they are looking for a new vendor. It is expensive compared to teflon tape. Tip 3: Do not over-tighten the bleeder nipple whatever you do; the pump & wrench method makes this difficult not to do because rapid closing of the bleeder nipple minimizes air bubbles.
