Getting rid of the shift lever slop.

Getting rid of the shift lever slop.
When I got my Superhawk about a week ago the first thing I noticed was the slop in the shift lever and the day after I brought it home I shimmed it and decided to go take some pictures and document what I did.
You'll need the following besides tools...
- O-Ring that will fit around the shoulder of the bolt.
- Washer with an outside diameter roughly the same as the shoulder or the bolt. (I had to drill the washer I had on hand out slightly.)
Now first things first, remove the bolt holding the shift lever and this is what we have.
What we will now do is slip the o-ring over the shoulder and the washer over the threaded part of the bolt like so. Make sure to grease it all so there is no chance of binding.
Now bolt everything back up and enjoy slop free shifting!
So far I have almost 300 miles on this setup and it's holding up fine. Hope it helps someone out.

No, no, no, no, you're doing it wrong. You're supposed to join the forum and ask a bunch of already answered questions, then post a poll of which years the CCT's failed. Not add a concise and helpful thread with appropriate length videos properly embedded to boot!
Try again!

So then I'll start off with oil, I use a combo consisting of canola, olive, and grill drippings that's been perfectly formulated to gunk like sludge and lubricate like water.
Really thanks for the compliment. Next up will be re-purposing an old fanny pack as a tail bag. (Seriously, no sarcasm here.)
