a lot of people just saw off the major part and relocate the license bracket light up - that alone makes a big difference and its free. I've done that. I've been checking out some as well and I think the mototek one looks the slickest to me - there are some posts on it and someone just recently put some pics of one they installed on here. has integrated LED signal lights below the brake light too. good luck

To answer the question...

Depends how much you want to pay. Denniskirk has the regular fender eliminator. Or you can go with an undertail like Mototek or Rumble. There are tons of them out there. Try exoticsportbikes.com or kneedraggers.com to start.

Some people say they are a pain to install, but the hardest part really is cutting away the old fender. I like to use a propane torch and a box cutter, it leaves a nicer looking edge. Not that it matters, you can only see it when you take the seat off. But I'm **** like that.

I just cut my fender with a sharp razor blade, after letting the bike sit in the sun for a while (blow dry might work too to warm up the plastic) and scoring the cut 2-3 times. Just take your time! (left about 2 inches of plastic under the rectangular reflector)

Have this rear tail light w/ signals incorporated (see link). Looks good in my book and in my budget! I checked out fendor eliminators and the cheapest I found was in the $130.00 range…..

I got this undertail on Fleabay and added the flush mounts. The turn signals were not bright enough so I added 3 more led's per signal.
Tag is mounted in front of the hugger.
Yeah the cops have harrassed me a few times, but no tickets.

well, i ordered this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-00...spagenameZWDVW

thanx sd hawk.....

i'm going to install it and make a license plate bracket that
will mount under the light, and make a plate to stick the
inspection sticker on somewhere... we'll see how it turns out.
i might add a couple tabs on the license plate bracket to
mount a couple "hyperlites" so cages will see me stopping...

getting a$$-ended kinda sucks

What is the "underseat hack fix" all about? Something you have to do with the undertail replacement?

You have to cut out about 75% of the stock undertail to get the Mototek to fit . When you remove the seat you see it . I just made some inserts to cover it up .

They are T-REX . Its the same ones that used to be on ebay . The ones they showed in the picture on the Auction were the regular long black ones . But the ones they sent were these . ( which I like better anyway ) . This was probably one of the few times I was happy that I didnt get what was shown in the picture !
