I think I got rid of the low rpm "burp"

I had been messing around with the jetting, trying to get it just right.
I have installed the pipes and K@N with a jet kit. The bike was running great while on the gas but at I ran around town and the rpm go around 3,000 the carb would backfire. I tried everything, tps adjust, carb sync and It seemed to be a lean condition in the rear cylinder.
You can test if you’re lean by getting to the rpm inquestion and pulling the choke out partway. When I did this the bike ran much better. Moving the clip down one position on the rear cylinder and opening the mixture screw about 1/8 the bike now doesn’t miss a beat. Idle is great and no "burp"
I also made some block offs for the SASystem to get rid of the exhaust popping on deceleration. No sure, but I kinda liked it.
But I can now take all that crap out.

How did you 'pin point' it to the rear cylinder?

That's a handy troubleshooting skill, how did you do it?

Tape off part of the rear stack?

Sounds like you were able to 'nail it'.

Thanks Jeffers

Re: I think I got rid of the low rpm "burp"

two things.

first the backfire seemed to me more from the rear cylinder than the front.

second I rode the bike on a long (450 mile )ride on saturday when I got back I checked the plugs. the front cylinder looked nice and chocolate color, the rear was burning leaner than the front.. more white.

after adjusting the carb the diff was amazing. I havent checked the plug burn yet but i will let you know
