Compatible Aftermarket Exhaust
Compatible Aftermarket Exhaust
I was wondering if anyone has bought aftermarket cans for their SH that weren't made for the SH. Such as, maybe someone has cans that were designed for an RC51 that have been mounted with the appropriate SH hardware. Does anyone know if each can is actually tuned for that specific bike. Would mounting cans designed for a similar bike, i.e. TL, RC51, affect performance negatively?
Some say they're tuned to specific bikes but if I look through my 2 bros cans it's a straight shot from one end to the other with some holes to reach the packing. I've looked in other 2 bros and they were the same so I don't see a difference there anyway. The amount of back pressure will change the performance no matter what bike it's for. In the 80's and 90's Supertrapp made an exhaust that you could change the way it ran by changing the amount of disk's that baffled them.
Re: Compatible Aftermarket Exhaust
I have discussed this matter with Staintune, who inform me that most of their mufflers are the same. On that basis I bought some off a Yamaha FJR1300.
Re: Compatible Aftermarket Exhaust
it is not cost effective for a manufacturer to make different cans for different bikes.
Hindle offers different lengths, shapes and materials.
Two bros offers different shapes and materials,
etc.
the only thing that will be bike specific is the headers and mid pipes.
