Is it possible to high-mount the stock mufflers?

any thing is possible,just find a good exhaust shop in your area and make sure they use stainless tubing. sure it wont be cheap though.

You'd have to lop the mid-pipe sections off, then have a shop makes some mid-pipes, then have them welded or attached somehow. Probably cheaper to just buy some aftermarket units.

Yeah, anything is possible if you throw enough money at it! LOL

Two suggestions:

1) Buy staintunes. Super High quality and quiet with the restrictors in. Expensive but bolt right on.
2) Modify RC51 cans to fit (see my avatar). Cheap, very quiet (stock) but you'll lose rear pegs without modding.
