Rear hugger- others fit?

Current budget does not allow for a new hugger for my VTR, but I ran across a CBR rear fender locally for $10, so I bought it. Anyone ever tried adapting one of these? It appears that "maybe" if I cut off the rh side (where it goes to the swingarm) it will be nearly identical to the VTR units pictured on eBay in basic design. Said to be off an F3 btw. If the swingarms and tires are similar in size, it might work. Has be be better than the mudflap deal I would think. That is pathetic!

Thoughts?

I modded a cb919 unit. It was pretty close right out of the box and only needed minor brackets/new holes kind of modding.

I don't have any real good shots of it loaded in my photobucket account.

This is the same fender modded even further to fit my VFR with single side swingarm but you can see how it, especially the chain guard part, still looks "factory". After taking this pic, I moved it back more to "hug" the wheel better. Still need to paint that extension bracket in front of the sprocket but really want to include it in a batch of small parts for powder coating.
