Let's Play: "Find all the mods"

<cue cheezy game show music>
Let's meet our next contestant. He's SuperBling and from deep south Texas. He's been a busy little beaver over the winter so let's see what he's done!

Re: Let's Play: "Find all the mods"

Well the photo caption boxes have a limit and cut off my descriptions so here's some more info:

Yes, the bling's been taken down a notch with a switch from the former chrome VTR wheels to powdercoated units. Also the 2 bros. ti highmounts are history, replaced with a set of basically new factory RC51 pipes. They bolted up with just a few alterations. Their ID is larger so I needed additional gasket material on the header pipes for a more solid connection. I cut the hanger band welds so I could move them up to the mounts used for the 2 bros. I've always luv'ed the angle of the 51's pipes. Heel guards are required with my lowered foot pegs, maybe even in the stock location too. I'm hoping to do a "lite" bafflectomy on them as they are just as quiet as the stock SuperHawk's. I do have a set of RC headers. Anyone know if the DON'T bolt on before I start?

Rear is a rare find. Custom powdercoating actually matches my new decal accent colors. It's off a 96 CBR900RR so my bike is now 25hp stronger! :-) Bolted right up accepting the VTR's brake, cushdrive/sprocket, and spacers. I also spooned on my first diablo corsa. Hope they last longer than the previous awesome supercorsas (should).

Thanks.

The brakes are gsxr1000. See a topic on them in the performance mod section. The hugger came with the bike and I don't know the manufacturer.

Nice lookin' ride! Congrats on losing the chrome (it's a personal thing.)

Tell me about your frame sliders. What's the brand & where can I get them?

Also, what did you have to do to install them? (Drilling? Cussing? etc.)

Hey superbling. can you tell me more about those heelguards. Did you fabricate them or did you buy them, where did you get them, because I need a set. Thanx

Mean looking bike. I luv it. How about a tinted windscreen and flush mounts for the front to finish it off?

Re: Let's Play: "Find all the mods"

OK, let's see:

I'm down by Corpus Christi. RC headers aren't for sale at this time.

I got the frame sliders from ebay (about $45) and had them on my Bandit 12S. The are OK quality, starting to rust on the insides. The location position is by a previous owner. I'm not crazy about it but I can't do much about it now!

Heel guards can be purchased from any of the large aftermarket guys, just look in the exhaust accessories section.

I do have a smoke DB screen (see avitar). I was just seeing what a stock one would look like to break up all the black. As far as flush mounts, I prefer the more visible stockers along with having running lights. My flush mounts are the 2 wire kind.

So much practical!!

Re: Let's Play: "Find all the mods"

THANX!

The spools were all ready welded on when I got the bike and, yes, since the VTR doesn't have a centerstand these are VERY handy.

Since I posted this thread, I've added a penske cbr929 rear shock and a fork brace. Up next is a cheap custom superbike style handlebar setup. I'll post some more pics then.

Ok, lucky bastard!!

By the way, also very cool your RC pipe, I like the way they goes up like on the RC, I think I will try to bend my Micron low mount link pipe this winter to look almost like this, unless you have no opposition

a CBR929 shock!!? I was thinking that no other bike shock are fitting on the SH!!?
