Question air intakes. . ..

So I'm trying to find a place to squeeze the air horn that I bought and I was eyeballing the space where the air ducts are in the side fairings. I'm looking at the way air flows in to the air box and I can't see how these are functional, anyone know where the air is going other than across the frame? It looks like they just wanted to relieve some air pressure from the front of the bike or something. This is the air horn that I'm installing by the way. . .http://www.amazon.com/Stebel-Nautilu...=1Q5QIUS9URP4G

Those ducts go nowhere, well they do dump out by your knees but they don't do anything. I pulled mine out about 11yrs ago because I got tired of them rattling.

I thought they fed the radiators.

Nope they just end in the fairing pointing straight back way to far from the Rads (up by your knees) to do anything but maybe dump a little cool air on your knees on a hot day.

Like I said mine have been out for at least 11 yrs with no cooling problems

That's what I was thinking, I wanted to get a second opinion. I'll post some pics up when I get it installed.
