New Superhawk owner :)
Hey everyone!
I'm the pround new owner of a brand new (dealer leftover) 04' Superhawk. I've been drooling over these things for a few years now and finally managed to get my own.
I'm looking forward to doing a few things to it and am reading as much as I can about what "mods" to start with.
Here is a pic of the bike:

I'm really loving the looks of the Two Brothers m-2 / m-5 titanium exhausts, but wanted to gauge some feedback on what might be good or bad.
Look forward to learning alot and making some new friends.
Thanks for all the help thus far!
Jonny

Welcome and congrats. You'll love that bike.
I got a new leftover '03 last week and I love it. You can see pics in the "Jake D's bone stock Hawk" thread.
What did you ride before?
Edit: do you live in a rain forest? That picture has some nice follage in the background. Awsome pic.

My recommendations for any superhawk- and I've had mine since '98.
Go with exhaust of your choosing, and a dyno-jet jet kit.
Then order a pair of race-tech straight rate forks springs appropriate for your weight- they have a chart. Install them and get your sag set to approx 30mm. Best $100 spent on this bike- stock springs are WAY too soft. The rear is very stiff, so you'll probably need the lowest setting on that for your sag.
Look up how to remove and plug your PAIR system to stop the popping on decel with the new loud pipes. Cost is nothing unless you go for the cool Two Brother's racing block off plates- I did when the rubber caps I installed rotted off.
After that, I was happy for 8 years of riding before I really "needed" to mod anything else.
Of course you can "clean up" the rear fender and reflectors, and put on smaller turn signals- but that's just cosmetic.

Thanks everyone! I've really been enjoying the bike and am still waiting on a few parts to arrive to get some more pictures of everything installed.
I'm coming up on 2000 miles pretty quick here and have a few things I'd like to tackle over the winter. I heard an RC51 at the local shop a few weeks ago with a Akrapovic system on it... needless to say, I fell in love with the sound. I think that's the exhaust I'm going to try and track down.
I'm starting to realize that these tires are not the best either (Dunlop 204), they really don't inspire much confidence, so I think those will be swapped out before next season as well. The Pilot's seem to be getting pretty good reviews so I have a feeling I'll end up trying a set of those.
Thanks for the info about the suspension as well, I'm starting to notice more and more how soft the front end is and would really like to do the Racetech upgrade as well.
So far, this bike has been everything I wanted it to be... a little sporty, a bit of comfort and tons of fun.
