Thumbs up New guy with my 1st 99 SH!

Well I finally got one after a to long of wait...Got it Thursday..99 Superchicken thats in mint shape w/ StainTune exhaust thats made in Australia....Sound it awesome! I am in love with this bike! What a blast to ride I have had soooo many bikes in my past and this is my favorite! The only complaint is it tends to sputter in top gear around 60-70mph cruising? Other than that it runs awesome...jetting I guess? never the less...Luv it! Would like to find a seat cowl for it..

Is that an alligator skin Corbin? I can't say I've seen one that looks like that before.

Hi and welcome.
That sputter should be fixable with a little TLC on the carb. Love the Staintune that never needs repacking.
Would you consider painting your bike red for a little more speed?

Funny you say that! I did paint it RED.....But the damb paint just runs off when I hit Mach Speed and that YELLOW just keeps staying on!??

Thanks! Well the sputtering at cruise speed (60-75) seems to have cleared up? Hmmm?...Now and then a spit and sputter but not bad...Oh well

I love Staintunes! I had a set on my Y2K RC51. Those pipes are so loud! Like f'n thunder!

Your stumble is probably poor jetting. Those pipes breathe extremely free. Had the same issue with my Yoshimura set.

Congrats on the bike. I love that old school Gixxer. I have old school too.

Found a new toy! See what owning a Superhawk will get you sooner or later. For me sooner! LOL.... 04 Honda RC51 Nicky Haden replica. Has Sato full Titanium high mount race exhaust, Sato rearsets, Scott dampener, Pazzo levers, Powercomander...ect... It's a monster!

Haha....I would of said the same thing! Get one before there all gone...Not to many made from 2001-2006...I think aroung 1500 units shipped in 04 to the US. So all the ones that was used in racing, just plain totaled out on the road...So I think not allot left

You think the Superhawk has *****...Ride one of these babies that has been opened up...If you know what I mean...Its a little differnt animal!

Very nice!

Before I bought my Superhawk, I sat on an RC51 in the dealer showroom. I figured I'd last no more than 30 minutes in the saddle with the riding position. It was only about $500 more, list, in 2005, so I could have bought it, no problem. But as a 2nd bike now, if I could afford it, I'd jump at the chance. Lucky you!

Around here I see about as many RC's as Superhawks, and that totals about 20 in the last 6 years.

Yeh the Superhawk is more comfy but the RC is not bad..Ergos are forgiving. There is hardly a reach for the bars so your not all slammed over...Only when you want to..
