RCVTR is an unknown quantity at this point
Sounds good.

I would add a fork brace to the short list.

i plan on doing exhaust first since it was cheap, jet kit to go along with it.

then, my forks... gonna send em off, since i don't think i can handle it. Plus i don't wanna get it wrong. I'm a heavy guy

then brakes... then probably the rear shock... probably get the f4i shock modified by JD

Then after that, who knows. Maybe streetfighter the thing. LOL

IMO the first mod on any bike (especially a 1000cc V twin) should be to uncork the exhaust.

But hey...that's just me

Meh... EVERYTHING in my mod list just got pushed back.

Has a shinko 009 sport touring tire on the front, and a worn stock tire on the front.

I've heard good things about the shinko 005 advances for the price... thoughts?

I used to use pilot sports

The necessity of a fork brace is determined by the weight of the rider and his riding style. I wouldn't say that it's a must-have for all.

Ok so this brings up another question I've been pondering. Can a 205 lb. guy get anything close to what you get from a front end swap by simply having the stock forks done up (springs, valves etc.) changing calipers and adding a fork brace?

on a bike like this, suspension mods is pretty much the 1st thing anyone should do. Either set it properly or get it resprung. its more of a safety issue than anything.

with standard forks, respringing and setting sag is much easier than proper jetting.

Yes, having Greg or Jamie respring and revalve your stock forks will do wonders. Swapping in a F4i or similar brake setup will take care of your brakes.

I did the forkswap because I started getting (the wrong) parts cheap, then I had half the right ones, so I went ahead and got all the right ones..

I have done about 20 sets of forks for the guys here. Jamie is the shock expert. Jamie, are you doing fork work now?

Are either of these guys "doing fork work" in California by chance? I found a shop called throttle worx (or works) here in Sacramento that claim to be great fork builders. Any suggestions on how one knows where to go if they don't want to attempt a rebuild themselves, other than the obvious Greg or Jamie?

Honestly, I think you'll find Jamie or Greg to be cheaper than the local shop. At the very least, less risky. By that I mean that they have spent a lot of time on THIS motorcycle, and this Throttle Works place has probably never heard of a Superhawk.

Well are you a big guy or a little guy?
If you're a big guy I have a set of revalved and resprung forks and shock done by Lindemann (http://www.le-suspension.com/) that I'm going to be selling in a month or so. I'm even close as I'm in the East Bay area.

If you are going to have your stuff done I would either recommend Jim Lindemann or Dave Moss at Catalyst Reaction (http://www.feelthetrack.com/) to build it.

Wow, thanks man! And.........hello neighbor......I'm 205 pounds. I've barely ridden the bike at all but can already tell that the front is "mushy" to say the least. It has been in the shop (CCT failure, piston and head work) for 3 weeks and I pick it up the 19th. I'll keep in mind that front end you have.
