Here is mine, a 2001 XR650R.
Had some rain for the past couple of days here, yes it rains in California, and the XR reigns, pun intended, supreme in foul weather.

If I could only have one bike, this might just be it.

You'll have a blast on yours.

The tailtidy and pipe I get... The protection is basic stuff... Also getting rid of the stupid-ugly reflectors are understandable...

But correct me if I'm wrong, aren't indicators a good thing (albeit the stock was a bit bulky)!? And why the new linkage?

I put a little under 1000 km on the R (dual-purpose) version of the WR last summer and quite enjoyed it. It is a spunky little runner with a solid frame and fork. I am sure you'll have a blast with it.

It would be sad to let the Hawk go, but I agree. If I had to have one it would be my KTM.

Supermoto is lots of fun but not for the faint of heart. I ride it much more aggressive then i EVER rode my superhawk. On normal twisty roads i put mega distance between me and even a pretty good sport bike rider. Your confidence is much higher. But..... i still miss blasting down the highway or down the straights on the hawk. You need both. also, i use my supermoto offroad on some really hardcore trails. I go out with buddys on dirtbikes and while im not as fast i still keep up. I liken it to drifting off road with the tires i have on it. But dont think you can buy one and just leave it alone. WAYYYY too much to do to these things. I spent $600 right off the bat to upgrade the suspension and MAAAAN what a difference, im 6'4 and 250 so i set it for my weight. It was sorta like a pogo stick before, now i have new valving oil and front and rear springs and it is great. Also, On the drz you can add a pumper carb (FCR) that makes the bike feel like a rocket, huge difference. all told i think i have 7k into the bike and its is ridiculous.
