Superhawk Down!

hey guys...squidly here...

got the bike running FANTASTIC with the APE Manual CCT's...man it pulled like the effin DEVIL...

then...
shifted into 1st instead of 2nd...no slipper clutch...
road was a little wet...
down she went...

crushed the Micron...
clutch cover
dented the tank
bent the right clip on
broke both front fairings
damaged the turn signals, mirrors, footpeg...
and
won't stay running now...
sweet jesus this is gonna take awhile...
but I never felt anything like the pull from this bike...
its addicting...

I have mirrors and a couple spare windshields if you need. Probably not perfect but perfectly useable.

Did the same thing at V.I.R on a sv650 two sessions after I reversed my shifter so my toes wouldnt drag in the left turns almost got ran over Turn 4 to be exact.. Of course I put the effing shift pattern back to normal... As for turn signals I took mine off of my superhawk and use my Arms.. i turned the front left turn signal around backwards and mounted an epic camera to it... makes for great video..

The torque and compression is crazy. Doesn't take much to lock up the rear on a down shift, or smoke it when taking off.

I went down in 2001. Cold tire and taking off from a stop sign. High-sided and broke my collar bone. It happens.

Wow you have collision on your SH, Nice! I just have liability and it costs $100/yr.

As far as knowing what gear im in, im debating about getting a digital shifter gauge. But how i tell right now when im down shifting is that 2nd goes to a much higher rev compared to 3rd or 4th.

ive had a spill too, 3wks after i bought it, had an old qualifier @ 45* weather is a bad combo. I was in my neighborhood and the 1st turn i took it washed out on me. I wasnt but 1/4throttle on the gas. It ended up grinding a hole in the clutch plate and ive still got a little fairing damage, but nothing serious or really noticable

It's amazing what a little blip of the throttle will do on a hard downshift (or soft one for that matter) to help keep the rear tire from locking up.

You should tell them you want to keep it and they'll probably take like $300 or $400 off what they give you then you'll have a parts bike for super cheap! Or take that extra cash and just fix up yours. Though it'll have a salvaged title so it won't be worth so much if you ever decide to sell it but who cares? :-)

slick *** insurance fcks

they want 1800 for the bike as salvage...
that doesn't leave me enough to rebuild...
I would have bought it...salvage or no...who cares?
it would NEVER leave my garage anyway...
until my grandson took it out upon my death and said to himself...
WOW...grampa was cool...

Hey raylohne1, I may be interested in parting with my 98'. If interested let me know. In the mid-Michigan area.
