Signs of spring!
So ever the optimist. I would like to say that
1) The days are getting l o n g e r (!), and
2) The temp may break the freezing point tomorrow.
I know I am a baby cuz you Cannucks have it way colder, but man when it hit 26 today it felt like spring.
Yeah, it will go back to the single digits but its still a sign.

Yeah, spring....its a balmy -32C here today, -45C with the windchill. Spent the first hour of my workday digging a school bus out of a 3ft snow bank in it , it wakes you up real fast that for sure. You don't even know how ready I am for spring, which is still 2 months away!

Damn....-10F and they close the schools? Kids here would be home 75% of the winter here if that was the case I work for a school division up here and our cutoff is below -45C, and that's just for bus service, schools still stay open!....we were just on the border of it today, and we ran the entire fleet of 54 buses in this crap. You want to talk about equipment failure, this cold does some crazy stuff to a school bus.

My wife is a 2nd grade school teacher and she has off Monday (today) and Tuesday. At 7am central time Tuesday, it's supposed to be -22F here in S.E. Wisconsin with winds picking up later to 30mph. I just hope we don't get any snow, because I use my Bobcat to clear driveways around my neighborhood and it will be a bitch to start. Hmm...what temp does deisel start to gel at again? Crap, now where's that damn heater...

Its always darkest before the dawn, or something.
I quickly posted that when it was 41F here, then went to work and rode home in the teens(!). But it was a nice ride.
I am using target fixation to my own benefit. Took the warm day to shovel every bit of snow off the front of the house..
I am trying to stave off winter depression. Who's with me?

Like many of you guys, I observe almost daily where the sun is in the sky while I'm driving to work, and how soon it sets after I get home... counting the minutes of daylight that we have, and wanting to stretch that envelope.
Unlike many of you guys, I was bummed because we had low clouds last week and it dropped our hi temps back into the mid 60's.
That starting to blow over by the weekend, and we were working our way back up and getting closer to the 70's. Sunday was a beautiful day for riding!

What's even more funny is taking a big water gun(like a supersoaker) and filling it with hot water...instant snowmaker. My kids had a blast with it, they hosed down anything they could see with snow...the trees, the cars, the dog...my wife was boiling the kettle for nonstop for a good half hour. We have to have something up here to make all this cold more enjoyable!
