re-keying gas tank

When I brought my hawk it had a different key for the gas tank. Looking at the lock, I.m not sure how it comes off or it can be re-key. Anyone know anything about this. Thanks.

Well, if you have it open, it's easy, just undo a few of the bolts at the perimeter ring... But with it still locked, it won't come of without force... Best is probably to break the lock cylinder with a hammer and big flat screwdriver... Or have it taken to a locksmith...

Thanks Tweety,
I can unlock it and open it, just don't see how the lock mechanism comes off. There's no screws / bolts only what looks like a o-ring gasket. If I ply this out of the groove will the lock and tumblers come out.

Nope... Don't go prying there, it will only break it... The cap is a solid unit and you cant really replace the lock on it's own... You can however buy complete sets of the three locks, including the gascap on eBay and swap all to have a complete set...
