which bar end mirrors to get?
im gonna ditch my mirrors and go with a single bar end. i was taling to a friend about them last night as he runs them on his r1 and he said not all the bar ends will fit each bike, said he bought clip ons and they werent good for his bar ends even though the company sold them together to him. anyways, what am i looking for in a bar end mirror?

I've used Napoleon bar end mirrors on every bike I've had for over 30 years.
I had a set on my VFR, but I had to remove the bar end weights and the damper from the clip-ons.
The CheeperHawk has one, so far.
Here's a shot of my SR500s, both with Napoleons.

I just want a nice small round one. I don't even know the first thing about what to look for when ordering. And it looks like I'm gonna need some cheap flush mounts too. Got some reason one of my mirrors isn't blinking.

yeah ive got mirrors with integrated blinkers. and the left hand side mirror died while sitting on my work bench. worked friday night. put it on today and its dead. it wont work from the right side wiring either and the right side mirror works on both sides. so something go messed up in it. blessing in disguise as i want to do a single bar end and flush mounts anyway
now just to find some cheap flushmounts and a bar end. lol
so im thinking of getting these for the blinkers
http://www.kapscomoto.com/Shop-By-Pr...tors-p555.html
and making them fit, and for a bar end im not sure yet because i dont know what will bolt onto our clip ons.
maybe something like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/black...Q5fAccessories
will something like that fit? says it needs a hollow 7/8 clip on. i have no idea what ours are, lol

Uchi...just took these shots of the bar ends on my Buell. They were $30 on e Bay. Plastic, yes, but the mirror itself is glass.
I've had them on the bike for 3 years and they're great! Rock steady and no blurring - even with an old Harley engine buzzing around underneath 'em!
Just mooch around on e Bay and you'll find him... sorry but I don't know his URL...

7/8 in outer diameter surely gives close to a 5/8 inner. I am running these on my Helibars (in place of stock bar ends) and they fit fine.
I am really impressed with these. Not only are the sturdy, they fold too and are vibration-free (at least on my bike). Another important factor is that I seem to recall shipping was reasonable, not always the case when buying from a US-based seller on eBay......

I know the Napoleons are sort of cafe racer, but they work very WELL. The only other bar end that was worth the $$$ was the CRG hindsight(s), but they don't have much space. Check out the mirrors at Wild Hair:

thought it was for 2 different bar sizes. so those ones just take place of the factory bar ends and a screw tightens them into place and thats it?

I want those for my CB1.5 but can't see paying $95 for them.

$80 shipped. I have an extra pair. The extra pair has a problem though because the pin in which the mirror pivot is loos thus causing the mirror to flop around. I think a little crazy glue would be the solution. Would you be interested for $50 shipped?

Hey Uchi,
I would imagine your inners are 5/8". Co-incidentally, I has a loose bar end weight when I did a check on my bike yesterday....it was literally hanging off the bar and only held by the throttle rubber sleeve of the handlebar grip.
So I took off the weight and checked the screw and receiver, located inside the bar. All is well, as it happens, but the ID looks like 5/8" rather than 7/8".
Hope this helps...

uchi, there are weights inside our stock bars. Bar ends actually screw into them. Open one up and you'll see.
If that invitation was for me, thanks! I would love to join you once. I actually go to Niagara region often. One of my two VTR buddies is from Hamilton and knows your region very well.
I was thinking about it before: it seems that there are enough VTR owners in GTA/Southern Ontario, we should have a ride/meetup/something at least once a year, to make some noise Someone just have to take charge and organize it! Are you up for that? I remember someone tried last year, not sure if it was here or on the GTAM board, but I don't think it ever happened. Would be nice though.

Just PM me with details. I'd love to go for a group ride if available. May invite couple more VTRs. But let's not hijack the original thread. The OP is into wrestling, they call him terminator, so we better get out of here fast...
