Just drove down to Gulf Shores for vacation and back. When did it become acceptable to plant your *** in the left lane doing two miles over the speed limit? I had to have passed 60 people on the right side.

SlowHAWK is an unknown quantity at this point
I think it's become acceptable now that all DMV licensing tests focus 50-60% of the material on DWI and next to nothing on practical driving techincs, like moving your slow *** into the right lane when there are 14 cars/bikes stacked up on your rear bumper.

Just more evidence of the deliberate dumbing down of the populace.
It's not a matter of instruction, it's a matter of common sense and common courtesy, both of which are rare commodities these days.

"Slow traffic keep right" is the least enforced law in Texas. I see truckers drilling down on these people all the time. When you're the size of the biggest hotel they ever stayed in they move over. If it's guys like me they sit there.

I had a good time the other day.

I got out on I35 hauling a trailer to the tree farm. Small trailer with excellent geometry - follows like a compass. In the fast lane a car goes by that says "Border Patrol - Loredo District". These guys are pushing. As they come up behind people - the people see the light bar and merge right. I like this. I get up behind them and we had quite a ride.

We went through DT San Marcos at 85mph. For a few stretches to Shertz we ran at over 100. These guys were really good drivers and I hand them their due. Driving with them was a blast. At times I was within 36" of their bumper.

At Shertz we got separated in some construction traffic and when we got to the other side they were gone.

I did a longer stretch of I-35 at those speeds trailering a new bike home except it was from 9pm to 12:00am on a Saturday night.

I was following the University of Texas crowd coming from Waco, who after kicking some Baylor Baptist butt in football, were hauling *** home back to Austin while many others continued on to S.A. What a great force field! LOL I just blended right in.

I find flashing my brights at left lane hogs usually gets most to pull over. If not, when I pass them I will slow down when in their view and point to my mirror and then point to the right lane. Never had one not move over after that.

Try riding in the CARPOOL LANE on SoCal freeways behind a driver doing 65 while the other lanes are doing 80.

Just use that extra-left lane. You know, the one with all the little indents in it that are placed there to let you know you are in the "really fast lane". If you go fast enough, your tires might be louder than your exhaust. It also helps draw their attention to your one finger salute as you pass them.

Oh, I have no problem passing in the carpool lane, remember I'm in CA where lane splitting is not illegal.

I just wonder why the hell they are in the carpool lane if they want to go 10 to 15 mph slower then the flow in the other lanes.

When I am on my bike my payback to these fast lane ******** is to get in front of them and do 35. Sometimes for quite a few miles if it takes them that long to get over. Being inconsiderate makes no sense what so ever. Misable people who want other people to be miserable like them.

The worst road in CA for this is I-5. It runs the length of the state. In sections between So Cal and Nor Cal its often only 2 lanes and you will get behind someone in the fast lane that paces a simi for for like a 100 miles with no chance to pass when your in a cage too!!!

Welcome to Alabama

I too wished they would enforce the "slower traffic move right" or "trucks use right lane" signs here. Everyone disregards it. Here in the states, you can't even use your horn or flash your lights without someone wanting to rip your head off, even if THEY are the ones slowing everyone up. They need to move the hell over if they have no intentions of getting somewhere any time soon instead of slowing up traffic for everyone.

I HATE driving on interstates for this reason. Maybe I should seek help, but nothing makes my blood boil faster. I love driving my truck and wish I could afford to put gas in it. People usually get out of the way for the Ram with the fake hood scoop. Then there are the READERS, eaters, cell phone in one hand- cigarette in the other F*ck the steering wheel drivers. I want my concealed carry permit, but I won't get one. Way too easy to do society a favor. I'm thinking about taking up a job as a driving instructor, maybe even a driving enforcer but I love my schedule way too much. 1 Day on/2 Days off.

Oh yeah, that's another reason I like Twins. Something about the sound of thunder and how it is delivered at some inattentive drivers has a great effect on waking their asses up.

After the first sentence, I thought for a minute, "this is about to get hot". Then I realized what kind of twins you were talking about.

PA is the same way. I use I-81 to commute to & from work. I seem to use the right lane ALOT anymore. we also have a law about using the left lane to pass, but it is never enforced. One other thing that really pisses me off is when I have to follow 2 trucks riding side by side. I have actually been stuck behind them for 2-3 miles while one is trying to pass the other one.

Try commuting around Atlana sometime. If you aren't going atleast +15 above the limit, you will get run over. It doesn't matter if you are in the H.O.V lane or not, people will try to run over you.
