Yeah... My point being that both his post and nuhawks is subject to interpretion... And all people in here using harsh words should start thinking before posting...

It's a very popular bandwagon to jump on "don't scare the newbies!"...

We have had several on that track in the thread... Very few of them are snow white themselves...

Well... My message is... If you yell at all the older guys with a lot of answears... Well... You might not get to many of them... And the chance is that they get even less motivated to be nice to newbie's...

Like I said... No more badmouthing... Either way... Play nice...

You are very constructive aren't you?

How many of your 20 post have been questions and how many have been answears?

Just asking...

Olde English 800... now that brings back some memories!! haha

When I was in high school back in the early '80's me and my buddies would smuggle Olde English 800 into the midnite movies on Saturday nights and watch Led Zeppelin's " The Song Remains The Same". Those were the days!!

What about those late night drinkin binges we do there Mike996. Dont forget the 70's porno mustaches and tube socks!!! LOL!!!! Late night drinkin aint the same without a drinking buddy like me!!! LOL!!!

Meanwhile I have experienced new issues on the bike. Today in the rain the bike started bogging out really bad. I pulled over and killed the engine. Waited a few mins and she fired and reved right up. I have done that tube mod thing I searched about but no luck on fixing the problem.

The cold weather is starting to take its toll on cheap batteries. I got on the Interceptor tonight, hit the start button and everything just blacked out. Right, Mike you know what that's like. I usually run with my highbeams on - especially in the day - so I flipped them off and the bike started. This a $50 battery from Advance and it's two years old. Down here it's the summer heat that usually kills them even when you buy the good stuff. That said, in the heat of summer the chemical reaction in the battery is under litte stress - when it gets cooler the power loss shows up fast.

My solution - a new $50 battery.

Thank you Nuhawk for that bit of info. But will a battery go as far as to fixing the cause of my problem??? Shouldnt the charging system keep the bike running even if my battery would be no good to the cold weather???

You need a good battery. When you have a known good battery in the bike, try disconnecting the battery when the bike is running. What happens?
Make sure your terminals are tight! Loose terminals can create running issues, cutting ignition intermittantly. Dip your battery terminal bolts in egg nog. Let me know what happens. (I haven't tried that yet)

I wish I lived closer so we could swap batteries or whatever might be causing your issues. I have a feeling (coming from a car background) that your issue isn't an overly complicated one, rather a pain in the *** to diagnose. If you have the cash, I'd run to a parts place, pick up a battery and see if that doesn't fix you up like Nuhawk said. If you're not getting enough volts, that can cause alot of gremlins to appear (from what I've read on here anyways). I just read a thread about a kickstand switch giving a dude fits.... I learn so much from this site it's ridiculous

Do you have access to a voltmeter? If so what is the voltage of the battery now as it sits? Most dealerships have a battery tester and can test your battery, charge it, test it again. They should do this for free if they are of any count.

No I think doing it all over the place is still the accepted norm.

It's definately the season. I haven't ran into a thread lately that did not have alcohol somewhere in it.

Just see if the static charge is above 12.4 vdc (as it sits there)
If it is above that it still could be a bad battery. Good static voltage reading but nothing behind it to do the work.
That is where a tester at a dealership comes in. It will tell you if the health is good, and if you need to replace it or just charge it.

Are you shitting me? They're now feeding it to my motorcycle. The Interceptor is having a very bad time adjusting to Avahooley gas or what ever they call it.

So I tested the batt. as is sits hooked up in the bike and it reads 12.7V. I fired up the bike and the battery read 13.5-13.6V. So thats good right???
