parts/spares

Where do you guys go for your OEM parts. Do you mail order or go to the local honda shop?

Depends on what I need. A lot of stuff is really easy to get online. ronayers.com seems to have the best all round pricing, and I've seen others here recommend bikebandit.com, though I've never tried them. For smaller stuff like filters etc, I just go to the local shop as it's cheaper, once you factor in postage.

I always recommend ronayers.com. The online parts fiche is great.

Here's what I like to do with their unusual shipping scheme. It's $7 for the first $100. So if you are only in need of one special part that's a lot less, order up all the usual maintainence items like oil filters, honda spray, chain lube, etc. I've ordered up nearly 30 lbs of chemicals/parts for only $7 shipping plus no tax. Awesome deal!

I'm sure they do this to discourage small orders while encouraging additional ordering "to get your monies worth" but if you keep your orders to essentials you WILL use, you win.

I just used ServiceHonda.com for a new regulator/rectifyer..... Their shipping was $8.00 and it got here in about 4 days, and their price was $111.00 compared to a range of $165-$180 from various other places including the local dealer..... Did it all on-line, great illustrated parts breakdown for virtually all Hondas....
