Hi Bruce welcome and enjoy the forum. You can find almost anything to do with SuperHawks in the search engine. Here is the most common things to do if they haven't already been done.
1 Manual cam chain tensioners
2 Pair system removal
3 8541Hawk carb setup guide

The rest is all optional!

Did the PAIR system first night, back fires were annoying as hell. What is the advantage of manual CCT over stock replacement.

The advantage is once you install them you never have to replace them again.

The stock ones need replacing every 30K miles or so.

Other than that it's more personal preference than anything else.

Oh and sorry for the thread jack.....

Does every Superhawk have the PAIR setup?

That temp is not a concern IMO. The fan should kick on at about 218-219 and then shut off at about 208-209 degrees.

I started stripping my bike down and found the PAIR valve was already gone!! Gotta check the reed valves but some of the work was already done for me. I guess the PO had some good sense. Of course this is the guy that put after market exhaust and air filter without a jet kit and wondered why it ran "cold" all the time and had to use the choke so much.... hmmm...

While thats not a problem, I changed my coolant to Engine Ice about 2 yrs ago & it lowered temps a bit

If U don't know when it was changed last, U should probably do it, especially where U live - Hot Man Hot
