New Member Intro

Not sure if this is the right place or not, but I didn't see anywhere specific for an introduction, so here I am.
Just picked up a '99 VTR1000, and can't wait to get out on the backroads this weekend!
Have had many bikes, over many years, but this is my first V-twin. Recently finished a restoration of a Triumph TR6 (car, not bike), and got used to the huge torque in that straight 6 engine, and I'm sure the feeling will be similar with this ride.
Hopefully, I can make some worthwhile contributions here in the future, and I look forward to picking some brains ;-)

Welcome. Great community and good knowledgeable people on here. Use the search engine amap, and you should find many answers to your questions.
CCt's are an issue, R/R also.

Thanks for the welcome, and the tips!
Not familiar with CCts?
It has Hindle pipes, and they are more than a little loud, but will be re-packing the cans shortly.

Cam Chain Tensioner. If my eye sight is good, you have the oem's on.
They do sometimes fail. And when they do, they create havoc on the engine. To avoid this, manuals are a good cheap fix.

Check in the knowledge base, you should find a sticky on that.....or better yet https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...pe-ccts-11275/

You being in ON, this is why your bike has the Hindles. Local company that make great exhausts. Unfortunaltely, no longer available for the VTR. So before throwing a hacksaw at these babies, read up on them and see what available options are offered to you.

Merci mon ami!
I have had Hindle pipes in the past, and actually got to know Lang a few years ago. He makes nice stuff, and I've already been in touch with their service department to get my hands on their re-pack kits. I don't really want to trash these ones yet ;-)
