Hello
i just bought a 1999 SH with 8000 mi- i have a few questions
When i got it --the bike had Two Brothers cans on it - i put the stock mufflers back on , and had the carb jetted to stock
As far as i know this bike is all stock--to me it runs rough at low rpm's - it does not like to run smooth between 2-3500 rpms -- after that it runs great-
It may be ok but i have never had a twin - and i'm not sure what is normal for these bikes
I have a Zrx 1200 that is all stock , and that bike pulls strong and smooth at 2-3500
anyone who has a bone stock SH can you tell me what you think about the rough running at low Rpm's
Thanks Rocky

That was quick
i only rode it a few miles with the TB vans - and it was the same-
i'll look into the carbs
the guy that put the stock jets in it said it was running well - but i don't think Honda would make a bike that was this rough at low rpm's - right where you ride on the street- it does not like small throttle openings -under a load at 2500 rpm's -- it likes it better if you open the throttle by half-
but you can't drive like that
should this bike run smooth at that rpm
or is a twin not happy there

A Big +1 on removing and cleaning the pilot (slow) jets. With only 8000 miles on an 11 year old bike, they certainly need a good soaking and blowing out with compressed air. My '05 has 42,000 miles on it and my #2 pilot jet was completely closed, causing a misfire, just 5 months ago.
As for pulling from low rpm...the SuperHawk doesn't like that. You'll be lugging the engine. It's best to downshift if dropping below 3000 rpm.
This bike likes to rev, so enjoy it. And Welcome!
