Needing Tires
I just thought I would let you guys know , I went ahead and ordered a rear Pilot Road 2 from Derby Cycles . THEY ARE LEGIT ! Paid $165 shipped to my door and had the tire in 3 business days ! So if you are needing any tire's , dont be scared to give em a try .......http://www.derbycycles.com/cgi-bin/e...oduct=Michelin
I just had a Pilot Road 2 installed in back, only a few hundred miles on it so far... I will do the same for the front when the time comes.
The Bridgestone BT021 isn't dual compound in front.
There are cheaper choices out there, but the Michelin had good reviews everywhere. A friend got 11,000 miles out of his, mostly highway.

We put a set of PP 2ct's on my son's zx9r. He really likes them and the bike looks like it's well behaved. My PP have squared so they need to go. I'm trying to burn the corners off but I think they may be hitting a heat cycle threshold as they have become very squirrelly on lane changes and road snakes. They still have great tread depth but they weren't like this when they were new. There is a considerable increase in prices since I put the PP on the Superhawk. They were only a $100 cheaper now for the set than the PP 2ct's. Don't get me wrong - great tire and I may mount a new set afterall considering the way I use the bike and how long these tires have been great.
Thats the same combo I am going to try (PP2ct on the front & Pilot road 2 on the rear ) I am hoping its the perfect combo for longevity & grip . I seem to be getting about 4-5k out of a front tire & 3-3.5k out of a rear . So I am hoping to get at least 5k out this rear .

I couldn't read all the posts, but I will tell you this. I have a Bridgestone BT021 on my rear(daily rider, need good tread life), and run a shinko 005 on the front.... Best setup I have ever had. The front is long life, and heats up a bit slow, but holds heat well. The BT021 is a hell of a tire. Great milage but it heats up super quick, and it sticks like no other tire i have had ever before. A lot of people will tell you it's stupid to cross tires, but trust me, i have no regrets. I may be a daily rider, but I tear it up in the canyons on the weekends. Dragging knees is a normal weekend ride for me.
