My T-Rex sliders just paid for themselves

I was making a right turn and didn't give it enough gas. The engine cut out, and already leaned over I couldn't get the bike back up. Over I went, but thankfully only the tires and the slider touched the ground. As I went over I pictured myself buying another fairing, but it stopped short of the mirror touching down. Yeah, stupid operator error, but at least this one didn't cost me anything. You'd think after 15 years of riding I'd stop doing these things.

dude i wish i had sliders... dropped my bike on thurs day and lightly scratched my fairing. i went to turn around in a dirt driveway and tapped my rear brake at like 4 mph and the front hit a rock and fell over... bent my shift lever but its all pretty much "fixed" for now until winter comes

Similar thing happened to me also , I was taking the bike off the swingarm stand and forgot the side stand wasnt down ! (DUH) It ended up falling on the T-rex and the only damage was to the left front blinker ( it just popped the lense out ) which really didnt matter to me since they are coming off anyway . .....The T-rex had just paid for themselves !

Everytime I use my swingarm stand I'm afaid I'm going to do that. I usually just leave the side stand down, and check to make sure it's down like fifteen times before I drop it down. And yes I exagerated, one side of the turn signal lens needed to be popped back in after I got home.

Same here , I usually leave it down too . I had put it up to change the oil , got sidetracked and forgot I even put it up . Felt like a total dumbass ! This was the first time I have ever dropped one while not actually riding it . Oh well , I guess it has to happen to everyone at least once ! LOL

They sound like a wise investment. I just ordered mine on Friday. It was hard enough finding a front rim and forks for my VTR, it must be a nightmare trying to source an engine case in half decent shape! Glad you and the 'Hawk escaped with little more than a bruised ego!

I didn't slide. I was creeping around a right turn. When the engine stalled I was releasing the clutch, so it just locked up and I went over.

Isn't the oil drain designed for draining it while on the sidestand? I was impressed with Honda's foresite when I first saw the side mounted oil drain plug. I intentionally don't put it on the rear stand when I do the oil change.
