I said nothing about being damaged and worn out. I said failure. Seen lots of "non-serviceable" piston and rods because of lack of oil on the small end. And it is usually due to neglect. Like always running low on oil, lack of oil changes. I used to do it for a living, but have moved on to brighter pastures.
