lets talk about knee pucks

Looking for help from the guys who have put their. Knees down. I'm about to purchase my first set of pucks and I'm not sure what to buy. I read somewhere that there are soft and hard pucks. Soft pucks will help drag you into the corner while the harder pucks won't. So for someone like me who's never dragged a knee but plans on getting one down this year would I be better off with a soft puck? And where's the best place for me to get a decent set that won't break the bank?

I have hard pucks on my leathers that i only use for track weekends only which i haven't done for several years. I didn't even know there was soft pucks. I don't think I would be interested in using my knee for a brake. **** that!

Makes sense. From what I was understanding it would just help keep pull you into the corner. For beginners. Ill get some hard ones didntthink about my knee getting pulled off. Lol

I have ones with titanium screws in them. they make all different colors of sparks when I drag my knee. scares the crap out of people riding right behind you.

I've seen those. The sparkys are wicked. There are a set wirth a big yellow smiley face I got a kick out of. Those preworn pucks are pretty sweet. It'll save me from learning to lean over further. Lol

doesnt really matter. you souldnt be putting weight on the ground with you knee anyway. but i think A* pucks are basically hollow, so i wouldnt buy them.

just remember that knee dragging should come from good form and speed. if you purposely try to get your knee down, no good will come from it.

True enough. And yeah I've seen the pics those pucks look like ****. I'd just rather not buy some from say ebay and have them create some sort of issue

I wouldn't be using my knee to try to help make a corner either. That doesn't seem intuitive to use body parts at those kinds of speeds.

I'd suggest just getting something cheap. using mine on the track, they've lasted for a year now and still have some material to go.

i've read this a couple of timeson this site & i'm at a loss on how anybody would think dragging your knee would pull you into a corner ?

klucky pucks are the best i've used ! bought by woodcraft. if your goal is to get your knee down then just find the thickest pad out there...

as jay said good form is the key.

I knew some women who could pull you into a crevice with their knee if you were hangin off. Does that count?

Seriously, I you securely rivet EBC HH brake pads onto your sliders, you will be able to pull yourself into a corner with a high degree of authority.

Wow! Thanks for the idea! I'm going to give this a try when I go to Road Atlanta! We're going to run the new turn 12, so that should come in handy!

you're welcome. i am adding this to the knowledge base for all unofficial Super Hucksters, both present and future, in order to assist them with their turning and their other more personal needs.

Just be sure you ignore all brake markers and when you see the edge of the track approaching, turn your head sharply in the direction your want to go and aggressively jump onto that double HH. Be sure you have someone video you so we can have evidence to post for other who may be skeptical about the efficacy of this procedure.

Thanks, Nathan
