Jennings GP this weekend

Damn!! Too bad, I would love to go but I've got 3 days coming up in December and the wife would KILL me if I even acted like I wanted to go. I'll tell you what you pay my way and I'm there!! If you can get back down I'm going on the 10th and 11th and be careful of T-8 it's a little tricky take it slow at first to get use to it. Take 7 later than you think you should and it will set you up better for 8.

I hear some guy recently set a new track record at Jennings.
1:14 I think? Broke the old record by a full second.
I hear it was the guys first time at Jennings. He was on an MV Agusta - or so I'm told.
I also hear MV is supposed to have a go at AMA next season.
Testing at Jennings perhaps?

You are correct sir! His name is Luca Scassa with a new lap record of 1:14.81 beating the not so old record set just about 6 months ago by Pascal Picotte. Not only his first time on the track but new to the bike as well. I run a flat 1:30 and I'm in the back of the advanced group, this guy flat out was FLYING!!

well I just got back and could only do one day on the track... im beat up and sore but the track was awesome. I dont know how fast I was turning laps but I was told between 1:35 and 1:40 which isnt bad I think. The hooters team was there and set my suspension for me which they told me was junk since its way too soft and wore out to set since its all stock but they tightened me all the way up in the fron and I still had **** loads of travel. The superchicken held up well and Ill definitly be heading back in the fall next year. Sorry I cant make it back again next month but I dont think I can handle the 16hr car ride again so soon lol.

That's understandable, looks like you picked a busy weekend too, all sold out! If you do ever get back down let me know as far in advance as you can so I can plan it. My inlaws have a place in Gainesville which is about an hour south, you are more than welcome to stay the night there that's a long trip home after a long day of riding hard. Those lap times aren't too bad for a first timer on a hawk. How did you like the track and what was your favorite section?

yeah it was packed and some good wrecks too unfortunatly. The rider from the hooters team cartwheeled it down the main straight in front of pit out and took it all the way to the first turn. From what I heard was he was powersliding out of 14 and got head shake and the front end tucked and that was all she wrote.
So ill be back to jennings next year in the fall and ill probably be on a 600. I have decided since my goal is to full on race Im gonna switch to inlines now.
The track itself was AWESOME.... the high speeds too some getting used to at first and i went off the track twice misjudging lol.. i went off in one when I target fixated on another rider coming in and again later in the day trying to take 3 as fast as i could and didnt lean into it enough. But the technical I ate everyone up in beginner. cant say enough.. wish it was closer to me but its like treat to go you know.

T-1 is hard to judge for some reason at first, I went off 3 times my first day there. Yeah I heard there was a ton of wrecks but the novice class fared well. One of my buds went down pretty hard but was ok just bruised ego from trying to get into the teens but getting into the bambulance instead. Hopefully I'll have a track bike by then as well, glad you had a good time, I love that place!!

You may want to look into it. The finger lakes region is just up the 81 from PA and over a bit to the West, where the Glen is located. I did a track day week-end on the long course (including the "boot"). NASCAR runs the short track.
More of a high speed track, but the boot section is awesome, with major elevation changes and an uphill straight !
