Insulating the gas tank?

Do you guys see any benefit in insulating the gas tank a bit? Just some heat resistant material on the bottom of the tank to shield it from engine heat. particularly a small area next to the seat where air box ends.

There's nothing better than a warm gas tank on a cold day.

It was cold tonight coming home and I had shorts on. Found out the the frame rails get nice and warm from the engine heat. WHen stopped I squeezed my legs against them and got nice and warm. Couldn't make contact when moving.

I see no reason to need to insulate the tank

It already has an airbox and a 1/2" piece of foam for insulation. It's not really that necessary anyway. The frame rails are hot because that's where the radiators are.

LOL
that aluminum frame sure takes away a lot of engine heat.

Of course, cooler (and denser) gas could bump engine output by .5 hp or so.......
