Highway Resistance

I've got a weird situation going on with my 03 superhawk.

When on the highway the bike will not be smooth at all when cruising. It feels resisted than it feels ok, its a herky back and forth.

When you go wide open there are no issues.

When you accelerate there are no issues, you only feel it when you are cruising between 60-100ish.

I think it has something to do with the wind because if you trail closely behind a car the bike run smooth.

The windier and colder it is the less smooth the bike runs.

Any ideas, its really annoying

Thanks, Nate

Raise your rear wheel and rotate it to feel if any of the links on the chain are bound up. Each one should move individually.

How to fix it? Get a new chain.

I have the same issue and have been chasing carb settings around because of it...I'll check my chain too!

It's marginally harder than that. The chain may apear to be OK you have to slowly rotate the wheel and check variations of the chain slack to find where it might be tightening, unless it's really screwed up and the it should be obvious.

Bad chains=bad sprockets=R&R both.
