Talking First ride since winter!

Well I took the hawk to work today it was 34* and wow that was alittle colder than the news said the night before. The afternoon ride was a plesant 70*. All I can say is the exhaust is super wonderful and the brakes are a bit scary (too powerful). Now I can see how soft my front springs are! Can't wait for the next ride.

On the brakes...I put in some EBC HH pads.....are they always so grabby? One finger and you nose dive. Don't get me wrong I like great breaks but is there a better pad not to be so grabby?

I've got GSXR 6 pots so I'm trying semi-metallic pads. Not broke in yet, I'll let you know. I've always liked the feel of semi pads and figure the lessen ultimate friction will be offset by the 6 pots.

Cool let me know how they work. I just think it will take some getting use too, with these pads.

Yeah, it's amazing what the human brain can adapt to. I've got 1/2 finger brakes on my mountain bike and when flying and bouncing through the woods half out of control I'm amazed how well I can modulate those puppies so with a little time we can come to grips with these brakes. I've ridden them once for short ride and they must be good because I didn't notice them.
Oh, and as Avid, the maker of some of the best bicycle brakes says, 'Any brakes can stop you, great brakes let you fly.'

Boy...do I agree! Just have to train the brain and right hands two fingers. I am trying to remember my TL 1000 S...and for the life of me...I can't remember the feel I had with those brakes. I remember they where great...but too long since then.

Yeah, ebc hh pads are known for their initial bite. You'll get use to 'em.

Got my 6 pots on the way, but i will be installing Vesrah HH pads. The rock! Zero brake-in required, seriously, just install, and full tilt race braking.

I too got mine out this evening, it got up to 72 her ein TN. Riding to work Thursday and Friday.

Yippee
