I'm with you Doc! My neighbor has a Bull Mastiff...no break-ins yet...LOL

My first street bike was a 2000 superhawk... i had a dirtbike befor that.... as long as the rider has common scence and isnt brain dead any bike can be a good bike... my Hawk is a hell of alot easier to ride than my dads harley...

Softer side

Hey Fl02. Time to show my softer side after my rant... Bull Mastiff huh? I am in the process of getting a Mastiff now. Great dogs. Expensive, but great dogs. They are gentle until you **** them off then watch out. Of course is someone breaks into your neighbor's house and gets bit, it is the dogs fault. BS. Our lawmakers have to get their heads out of their asses.

divingindaytona is an unknown quantity at this point
Well I am suprized. It sounds like people are saying that a 1000cc I-4 is too much for a nubie, but a 1000cc twin is fine.

So a newbie on a DUC 1098 would be OK for a beginner, if I am reading you all correctly.

I think everyone's made a valid point. I've got my biases. I started on an 80 cc Suzuki K11. It was the sport model. It helped me learn how to use a clutch, maintain momentum, scrape pegs and live out my Mike Hailwood fantasies. It was cheap to operate and insure. Crashing didn't make it look much worse. I was 16 and I thought it was great. People who are starting to ride are lucky if they don't have much disposable income.
