FCR Flatslides ?

Hi everyone, I am new to the sight but have often looked in your forums as a guest, i have decided that cause im here alot of the time anyway i might as well sign up!!I'm in New Zealand so over here the bikes are of course the Firestorm, I have a '98 and have just taken off a set of FCR Keihin flatslide carbs, i see that they6 have been mentioned on this site in the past, i was wondering if anyone had tried them on their bikes and what they thought of them,I found them to be a great carb but reduced my tank range.

I am in two minds on if i should fit them back on as i find the bike alot more "tame" without them.

Because they are a throttle pump carb, and not a cv style, if you are unsteady with the throttle, you will go through more fuel. Same sized, same throttle position, same general jetting, should yield very close results in FE. Those throttle pumps can be quite aggressive, though, and will cause you to use more fuel. You could just get a throttle lock for hwy riding and save some fuel that way.

Yea Bill, your not wrong but the problem isn't the carbs i find i sometimes get a bit "enthusiastic" with the throttle.

Hi Motormouth, if i don't refit them then i will be selling them so will let you know, they have cables ans K&N washable airfilters, everything needed to make them work. cheers
