41mm FCR flatslides for VTR poss for sale.
hey, i don't post much on here, but i read a lot!!! i post over on the UK VTR1000.org site.
i've just bought a set of FCR's from mikstr.
i know how rare they are, and as i'm a proffesional bike builder/engineer, and my best mate runs an engine tuning/building/full dyno shop, i got to thinking....
i could buy a banks of four downdraught 41mm FCR's from yamaha R1's etc, strip them, fully refurb them, and build them into sets for VTR's.
would there be any interest? they'd come complete, ready to go, jetted to a base setting. obviously finished to a very high standard, anodised side plates and spigots, rose jointed throttle linkage etc, exactly as original.
obviously it would be a fair investment on my part, so i'd like to gauge interest first....
you'd be looking at about £600.UK a set, plus shipping etc, less than half new price, if you can find any.
as i said, just seeing if there's any interest, i wouldn't be able to ship completed sets until early feb.

Hi Rob. wow those carbs are getting around! I just want to see someone mount them with some pre/ post dyno runs and riding impressions. There has been quite a bit of interest on this site in the past but money was always the issue (and availability.) Personally I think having some first hand impressions of them on the bike would help quite a bit. Good luck with it all and nice to see someone trying to be innovative with things to keep the Superhawk intersting and fun to mod.

hi cliby, with any luck i'll be doing back to back dyno runs towards the end of this week. i'll post the charts here.
i know it's on a 650 jap 4, not a 'storm, but my mate gained 15bhp on back to back dyno runs just by replacing a set of standard CV's set up by tim blakemore racing, with a set of FCR's.

looking forward to seeing it. it should open up more options without the worry of the airbox and having more control over things. Are they going on a stock motor/header etc? Not sure what impact that will have on things.

i still have the original cans to do a run if you want, but there's not much point in FCR's with the restrictive std cans.
