Back After Absence

Hi all,

I hope you all well.
That was a long break from the forum, but I never stopped riding, the VTR is still one of my most favorite bikes.
Even though the VTR suppose to be an aged bike at this point, seems people still marvel when I pull over, no one seem to know what it is anymore, but it seem to still leave impression.
I don't know if it's just my take...

What's your experience?

Hope all is well and good with you.
Not much going on here these days. Interesting that there is 40 to 80-90 non members cruising the forum daily. Still one of the best resources for information on the SH.
Every other time I go to either of the "big" towns near me, I have someone walk up (mostly old geezers like myself) and want to know about the bike. Only ever had one person know what it was and that's because he said he had owned one in the past. Everyone is stunned when I tell them that it's 27 years old (date of manufacture)

All is good here, thank you, you absolutely right, when I say how old the bike is, people are stunned. I definitely think the VTR never got the recognition it really deserve.

It is wonderful to see older members re-visiting. Reading thru the post. In all agreeance with the Superhawk /Firestorm not getting the recognition it deserved.
Remember back in building the 1997(brother owned), 1998(Father owned/pasted) , and 1999 (replica (7-moore7) S-hawks, now owning these three plus my red 2001, the newcomer (8541hawk) 1997. So,own 5 Superhawks, each and every bike has it's own personality.
It is so good to read that a few of the original, or vintage member NHSH, NNJHawk02.

Now that I bought my blue garage queen, I don't ride her much. Wish I could put the thing in my living room, lol. Still find them gorgeous.

I never really had anyone outside of the local motorcycle community say much about mine. I hope to take it to a few special events when they pop up.

Just great people on these forums. As popular as the Facebook groups have gotten, there’s just too much riff raff and nonsense with very little good technical info. I been finding myself coming back to these forums more and more lately. It’s great to see a few members still engaging and interacting. For whatever reason I’ve seen a real resurgence of the superhawk over the last 4-5 years. Lots of YouTube reviews raving about how overlooked and great this bike is. It seems to have driven resale prices up on them as well.

If the bike was red you would have a lot more attention.

No need to be a douche, that’s what FB is for. Red certainly does stand out. As common as it may be, red just looks excellent on the Hawk and does seem to draw a crowd.

Ha. Second post, "Just great people on these forums." Third post, "douche". Sorry, I'm not on FB. My douchebaggery is reserved for this place. Oh well, welcome to the forum.

Xeris, it's been a long week.

Lol…..fair enough….I stand corrected, you’ve got the seniority around here to throw some shade, but Winning Red has always had a special place in my heart since my first VTR back in 99. Although now that I’ve found out it sucks, I guess I might need a blue one. 😉

I'll confess, I just bought a red Firstgear jacket off eBay cause the price was right and I didn't want to cook in black.

At least it's not a motorcycle.

Too funny

And as usual we got teased with warm weather the 1st w/e in March in the NE & it was good to get out - Winter made a come back

'71 AC - I hope to get down to your neck of the woods in retirement but on the Tenn side. About 5 more yrs...

And I'll still have the SH. It will get friends though - need something bigger for touring 2 up, as I plan to ride LOTS. Will add a Goldwing and a smaller cc ADV - Triumph 400 or something similar.

Stay safe guys - warming up soon
