Whoa. Something to haul my VTR that costs LESS than the VTR!

Why would you want to haul the VTR when it rides fine?!!!!

I dislike prepping my bike trackside. I'd rather get it all done a few nights before and then let 'er rip.

OK Marmy, we'll let you slide with that reason!

Umm, what's the price? Personally when I do have to haul a bike, I prefer a nice ride-on trailer to a truck/ramps anyday.

I enjoy the low height of the trailer when loading my bike, too, but damn if parking ain't a b!tch.

I believe the problem with Kia vehicles is that their price-point puts them in competition with used cars that appear to have more value, ie older generation Accord or Camry.

However, I see more Kias on the road everyday. Maybe they're like Saturn now...?

I have not taken my bike to a track day, mainly due to the fact that I haven't had the time yet, but also do to the fact that i don't have the trailer/truck to take it in.

I have asked and contemplated riding the bike to tracks that are close by (2 hour drive), but those experienced track riders have all advised against it. You will start the track day tired, you won't have any means of coming home if something happened to you or the bike at the track, and you will be dead tired by the time you got home on your bike.

It is definitely nice to have a truck or trailer.

Re: New Kia Truck

For the most part you're getting good advice... Although i'd doubt you'd be tired in the morning, you would be up for a brutal ride home after a track day. I've actually seen guys who've tried it send their bikes home with a buddy with trailer space instead of risking it.

UHaul has a little 4x8 open trailer with a little cut out up front for the front wheel of a bike for about $20 a day. I've seen a lot of them at track days...

Some of my friends have ridden to trackdays in the past, but they would throw their extra crap in my minivan (cooler with drinks/food, wallet, cell, etc etc). If you have other people who are going, then it's not so bad to ride to a track event.

Even still, try to find a friend or someone else who's going to the track with extra space for your bike.
