The RC surely does not as it has gear-driven cams

The hawk and varadero shares this component and probably the problem as well, and the RC is as said sans chain, so it sould be free of it...

There is certainly not as much discussion or mention of CCTs on the Varadero International forum as here.

Some of their members do massive mileages (eg 200,000 miles, 125,000 miles not being unusual), and cruise at over 120mph on the autobahnen.

Altough the engine is similar, the cams are different and the engine isn't revved quite as much I think... ?
That could be the reason, as the engine all round has a "milder" tune...

Yeah, and the ones since about 2001 have been fuel injected, too, which is easier to keep running smoothly.

Nevertheless, massive mileages without problems compared with what is being reported here.

(The riders tend to be much more sedate, too, in terms of acceleration if not top speed and average speeds point to point on long trips.)
