2004 Hawk Gas gauge

Hey gang, quick question on the gas gauge for an '04 hawk. When the gauge gets down to the last bar (the "E" which is bracketed in red) is that the reserve? Or is there an additional RLOD light that comes on like the older hawks? I cant get bold enough to run it lower to see, but i know i can get more than 95 miles out of a tank which is when that bar typically is in the red range. Especially since it's only taking about 2.8 gallons to fill it.
Thanks in advance!

I have the 2004 and when the last bar turns red or flashes red i think thats it, time to seek out some where to fill up.

When your gauge starts flashing "E", you have .74 gallons left in the tank. That is considered your reserve when the "E" starts flashing.

Thanks for that. Believe it or not I just went out riding and that very thing happened. Indeed the bar flashes. Thanks!

I get between 100 and 110 per tank and it is flashing. Usually takes 2.6 gal to refill.

another "2004 (new instrument cluster) gas gauge" question - mine is not working, although the tank s filled full, the gauge is on the last bar - reserve. Any input?

Do you mean it is one bar from the top, or it only has one bar?

it has only one bar so the gauge reads "empty tank". It is a newer cluster with digital gauge if it is of any help.

There is another thread on this subject, something to do with the level sensor inside the tank. The kind poster even supplied ample pictures. Sorry I don't have a link for you, but search RLOD for the site and it will come up. This forum is da bomb!

When sitting on the bike the fuel sensor is to the right in the tank if you stick the
gas pump hose in far enough you will damage the sensor.
Don't ask how I know this.
