Turbo

After much debate I finally narrowed my search down to just two that were both great fits on a twinscroll 500hp EFI 930. The two were the Garrett GT3582R and the BorgWarner S300SX 83-75.

The BW won me over due to it's dependable journal brg with oil only cooling setup. The fact that it can make up to 310 ft-lb of torque at 2000 rpms and 5 psi of boost helped me with my decision as well as the potential to make 487 ft-lbs at 4000 rpm at 15 psi of boost...hope I can keep it between the ditches

Cams timed and f'wrd oil cooler thermo out

Long weekends are great for my projects! I got the cams timed and pulled the front oil cooler lines off the thermo to clean it up and rebuild it.

New Turbo came in

I had initially ordered a nice Borg but after waiting months for it to arrive I switched my order over to a Garrett GT3582R T4 twin scroll ported cold side shroud and happy I did cuz it's a real nice unit.

Thanks

It's supposed to be good for 700hp, so I've got my twin waste gates set at 0.7 Bar or around 10 PSI of boost so I can sneak up on it

How low of comp pistons did you go with? your motor work looked phenomenal.

Sorry, I've been skimming the pics of this thread more than the words.

Thanks, I like havin something to tinker with in the garage.

The stock pistons & cylinders were fine so I went back with them at around 7.1:1 CR. I did however put in a set of high lift cams along with some race springs for a little added fireworks

you can probably throw even more boost at that low of comp.

if the crank's strong that is.

Always loved Porsches.

Crank is good to go cuz I had it cross drilled for added oiling...I think it would hold 1.2 Bar w/o any problem at all
