I've seen this scenario a few times before- it's always ugly. The motor officer was code 3 on his way to a traffic accident scene when a clueless idiot driver made a U-turn right in front of him. He centerpunched the car and was thrown over it into a ditch.

He remains in critical condition with a torn aorta, a broken arm and other injuries.

When passing a line of cars, never assume they are aware of you coming up from behind them.
