Great,

I was looking at these also. He pulled them off of the first auction. at the time they were only $200.00. then he re listed them due to "Had to adjust the shipping" but then jacked up the price.

So I a have not re bid on them yet.

8541 hawk has a lot more experience on this, but everyone I've talked to says without some sigificant engine mods a full system over slip ons don't give you anything. It would really be important to figure out what he means by 'race' version - maybe only means full exhaust - but there were some 'stage II' race systems that may actually hurt performance unless similar mods are done elsewhere. So more aint always better

You are correct Bill and I'm not saying that just because I like the Akro system. It is like the Moriwaki or even the Two Brothers full system in that it is made for a bike with pistons and cams. If any of these exhausts are mounted to a stock motor you actually loose a couple of HP. Also an Akro "race" system means the diameter of the header tubes are larger which will give you less power down low and flow better at high RPM.

Cool

I guess Akro still makes the system and for about $1300 shipped, isn't too bad either. You can even choose between titanium or carbon for the can! Hmmm... wonder if they have any in stock??

I've seen them listed other places also, but it's no longer listed on the Arko home page. There is a slip on for the Varadero that looks interesting...... I'll have to start a new thread and see if any of our Euro buddies can spot a bike with this system mounted and see how much moding would be need to mount it to a SH

I called them today and they said the carbon ones were on backorder until the end of May. Akro website might not list them but, they still make them. Parts Unlimited (PU) has a few of them in stock but, they're more expensive. PU has them listed in their 08 catalogs and on their website.

I bet that Veradero system would mount right up. You'd have to fabricate some mounts though. I wouldn't be surprised if the cost was the same.

The full systems might cost a couple ponies but they look great compared to the stock equipment. At $1300 for a set of these new, I have about half of that invested in my coated stock header, high-mount mid-pipes and the Jardines in back.
