Have you tried cleaning the valve seat out with a Q tip?

If you have a new valve and can't see a defect, then the problem could be something stuck on the seating area.

Also take a good look at the seat and look for scoring, which would mean you need a new set of carbs.....

I did use a q-tip, looked in seat, no scoring (thank God). Have you ever heard of the floats going out of adjustment? I know that they are not adjustable. I'll go look at the seat again.

The floats are not adjustable, like you said. Your only option with them is to replace them if they are out of spec.

Have you checked your floats for leaks? If not hold them underwater and look for bubbles.....

I am going to double-check the height and see if it leak free. If either are out of spec I'll take it. Do you know for a fact that it is in spec? Thanks

I talked to the VERY helpfull Douc.. I mean guy at the parts dept. over the phone and he said that they couldnt take it back beucase I used it and that I sumberged it in fuel. I went on to explain to him that this was the only way to see if worked properly, yada yada yada... Now when I return the part on Tuesday I have to talk to the parts manager and explain my case. Not to worry though, I know I'm in the right.

Was the valve in a sealed bag when you bought it?

Yes it was. I am 99% sure that it was not me. After using the Carb Set-up thread that you posted I remeber how sensitive the valves are to get in thier seat with out binding or falling out so I took extreme care. I looked around and the mouth where the seat is recessed into is smooth and nothing that could cut it. The bag that it came in has no cuts in it either, except for where I used a knife to open it with. Yes the valve was at the opposite end of the bag when I cut into it.
