Why, Why, Why? Hot fuel.

Why, Why, Why? Hot fuel.
Why did Honda pipe warm/hot coolant to the Carbs? This seems contrary to what I've learned about cool fuel density. It occurred to me that maybe it was to cool the carbs ala Tranny coolers in cars. I disconnected the coolant lines from the carbs, connected them together and went for a 20 mi. hard ride, stopped, engine running and scanned the float bowls with an IR temp gun. Noted the temps. Reconnected everything went on the same ride. Same ambient temp. Scanned again. Noted temps. I repeated this 3 times in each configuration. I was surprised to find the float bowl temps were higher with the coolant line attached. Not very scientific but....
What gives? Anyone?
