Turn signal quandry

I had four cheap incandescent turns sigs that flashed at a normal rate. Then I went with OEM style relacements on the front because I'm not drilling holes into new factory fairings. I have the plugs that go on the original sigs and have used them to hook up several different kinds of cheap incandescent sigs over the years.
With the new OEM style sigs hooked up three-wire style all sigs act as running lights and blink real fast. With the new ones hooked up two-wire, no running lights but they still blink fast.
Gets better. Either + sig wire hooked up to the blinker flashes the same filament. Either + sig wire hooked up to the running light illuminates the other filament. How the hell is that possible?
On a related note; I'm in the market for some factory turn sigs.
