Tilted

After my latest suspension mods I need to have a little longer side stand. I know about the CBR954 and CBR1000 stands with minor mods, and may go that route. Does anyone out there in SH land know if a RC51 Stand will work and if so, with what mods? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

1998-01 VFR sidestand works for me. No mods, but I had to use the Superhawk bracket. The tang on the VFR stand is shorter, but it's not really a big deal. Don't know about all the others, but I'm sure someone will chime in.

How much longer is the VFR one? The tang isn't an issue as I can weld up another one.

I don't know. About 3/4" I guess. Bike sits pretty vertical on the VFR stand but was leaned over too much for my liking on the stocker.

A picture is worth a thousand words, well maybe seventeen, depending on how much coffee is consumed.
Thanks

I remember (I'm probably going back 15 years) modifying an RC51 Sato titanium kickstand to work on one of my Superhawks. Not even sure where the darn thing is anymore (I'll try to find it because now I'm curious what happened to it lol) but I remember the top being square and having to ground one side down round so it would swing, drilling a hole for the spring to go into, and shortening the long tab down (the tab you use to kick it up and down with your foot). After that it worked fine on my Superhawk. Basically just put them side by side to compare and see what it needed to fit/work properly. I'm not sure if any of that would help you with a stock part though...

No problem sir. That's the beauty of the internet. This was a reply to Cary.

CBR1000RR tubiler stand with a little mod, works really well and it is lighter and more stable than the solid stand, just my 2 cents.

Thanks everyone for the input. I settled on a VFR stand as it is a simple 1 nut and bolt swap. But due to a foot problem (can't pivot my ankle), I had to cut off the heel tab (or whatever it's called) on my VTR stand and weld it to the VFR one.
