squeaking noise on accel

the title pretty much explains it. its only on accel, never on decel. its hard to tell if it goes away at a certain rpm due to noise increase. its not a high pitched whining, just more of a squeaking. any ideas would be appreciated. thanks.

Where does the noise sound like it's coming from? Front? Rear? Exhaust? Engine? Suspension?

oops, sorry. it definitely sounds like its coming from the front end. its hard to tell whether or not its coming from the engine.

Well, you could try jouncing (a technical term for bouncing) the front suspension with the bike not running. Also check for an exhaust leak. Small leaks at high pressure (on accel) could sound squeaky. Look for scorch marks around your exhaust fittings and joints.

look for things that might rub the suspension lifts a little, that is if the squeak happens once, and not the whole time when acellerating. Just trying to help

Check to see if something got sucked into your air intake/filter.

sqeek

I have the same thing. I have sort of written it off, because it does not seem to come from the engine.

I would like to know if anyone narrows it down.

Thanks you.

i have some sort of squeak too. it happens on accel and cruising, not deccel. it bothers me too. i keep thinking cam chain or something, but i really haven't got an idea.

what about the signature "honda whirl/whistle"? that is annoying too.

Hard acceleration may be unloading the forks enough to increase tension on all your cables which may cause them to rub / vibrate on any guides or body parts they don't normally touch. I had this happen on a BMW but it presented like a pebble rattling around in the headlight.
Maybe experiment with wrapping the front brake line in electrical tape wherever it goes through a guide or near or tweeking the guide one direction or the other?

i think my squeak was the chain. i neglected it, loud squeaks. lubed it up and squeaks went away. i'm getting a new chain so it doesn't matter much. more worrysome is that i'm concerned about losing my sanity.
