Front sprocket has play and shiny teeth on the outside. I have a feeling that all is not right. 2000 Firestorm.

If in doubt replace, and yes there will be a little freeplay.

Best replace chain & sprockets all at the same time as worn sprockets will accelerate wear of chain and vice versa. Make sure rear rubber cush drive blocks are... cushty.
