Samco hoses?

Hey all,

Figure it's time to do some maintenance. Going to do a coolant flush and was considering some new hoses. (Original 2000). Any of you please chime in that have a set of the samco hose kit. Like em? Worth the $$? Install? I'm guessing fairing off, tank, airbox? Anything else? Thank you

I have a OEM spares but have looked into silicone. Kits are actually cheaper than OEM and good insurance with other colors available. These guys can make a se if you send them a full set of OEM to copy.

Switched mine out to Red SAMCO's. Save yourself a headache, pull the carbs as there are a couple of short and one long ones that run under them from the T-stat housing to the water pump. I had mine off when I decided to bypass the carb coolant hoses (wait for it) and with a severe case of OCMD, I figured I should add more Red baubles! It looks like it would be a b**ch to change them with the carbs in place.
If you do it, I might suggest you get the clamp kit as well as standard hose clamps cut into the silicon.
A friend of mine, whom I'm installing my old MCCT's, has had some Chinese silicon hoses on his for 2+ years with no problems. The only thing I don't like is that they don't include the 8mm i.d. hoses for the carbs and overflow tank.

I suppose basic black would be too much to ask for in those kits.

SAMCO are a quality product
The cheap chinese copies work, but the red faded on mine as colors in all chinese products seem to do with exposure to sun.

Dont forget you need quality lined or embossed clamps made for silicone hose..Samco sells them and Gates Greenline silicon camps are also a great option.
