Run without gauge cluster?

Run without gauge cluster?
Anyone know if a '98 SH will run w/o the gauge cluster plugged in? I'm guessing it will, but I know some of the newer model sportbikes won't. Not looking for a permanent situation, just for the time being wondering if it can be streetable w/o them.
